Amarissa practically ignored his smart comment, and opted to instead sit up. She moved slowly, pushing herself largely into the corner of the couch created by the back and the arm. She brought up one knee, the one opposite her bad side, and curled it against her as she listened to James begin to speak more seriously. Oh. He had been wandering around the house? She found that she wasn't even upset by this. A bit surprised, if truth be told, but not entirely upset. She had forgotten about that stupid, sodding towel as well. It was just that she had been showering, trying to clean up a bit, and it had opened up again. It had been left in the bathroom. She hoped that he hadn't gotten entirely the wrong impression from it.
"I'm okay." Amarissa answered after a slight pause, nodding her head slightly in response to the implied question that he had asked. All things considered, she was okay. She was certainly better than she had been yesterday, after all. There were a lot of things to take into account; she might be hurt, but at least she was improving. She still felt ambivalent about explaining everything that had happened. If James asked she would have no problem with telling him everything she remembered, everything that had happened to her, but as it was, it wasn't a story she wanted to recount in an off hand manner. After he directed her attention to the hot chocolate, she reached forward, wrapping one hand around the mug, able to feel the heat of it through the ceramic and brought it toward herself to take a small sip.
"Thank you," she said. "For the hot chocolate," Her tone was a bit teasing at first and then more serious. "And for coming to check on me."
