Sirius lifted his sunglasses on to the top of his head as he walked into the hallway. It hadn't been a bad day, he'd walked around trying to find someone who needed a bloke who didn't ask questions - and liked his money in note form, preferably under a table.
He lifted the burning cigarette in his left hand to his lips and took a satisfying drag, breathing out a long puff of smoke. He could almost imagine his mother's screech of horror.
It didn't take much guess work to find Remus. Sirius tipped open the door with his boot, and grinned lop-sidedly, the cigarette still between his lips.
"You won't believe what I had to do to-" he froze, looking at the two of them. James' lean forward, and Remus looking as though he'd just seen a dead body.
"What did you do to him?" he asked James, peering forward to look at Remus a bit more closely. Sirius hand lifted to his mouth, and he pulled the cigarette out of it before it fell. It likely wasn't anything too bad, probably just some prank James had pulled in his absence. He'd have thought Remus would have caught on to their games after all these years.
