Characters: Draco Malfoy and Blaise Zabini Location: Malfoy Manor Date: Saturday, December 13, 2001 Time: early afternoon
Draco narrowed his eyes, squinting at the figures that now swam before his eyes. He leaned back, setting the quill down and rubbing his temples. He'd been going over the books in preparation for end of the year accounting. He could have simply left the task to the wizards he'd hired to make sure the books were in order should the Ministry decide to audit him. He knew several families who did in fact trust such matters to those companies, and while he understood they were reputable, he had understood his father's paranoia.
Glancing up, he was irritated to see precisely how much of the day had passed with him going over the figures that never ended. his stomach growled irritably and he sighed. Apparently he would be forced to take at least something of a break.
"Tibby." The elf arrived quickly with a small pop.
"Yes, Master? What can Tibby do for Master?"
He responded without looking up. "I need a sandwich and tea." Food had to help his concentration. He didn't dare stop completely, however. Blaise was expected within a few hours, and Draco knew that once his friend arrived, there would be no more productivity.
Draco picked up the quill as Tibby disappeared to retrieve the requested food then promptly set it down when the wards informed him that Blaise had indeed arrived. Groaning, he stood up and headed toward the floo, Blaise's preferred mode of transportation.
"Afternoon, Blaise. I was just going to have a spot to eat. Care to join me?"
