Bollucks. Maybe this was the afterlife, where they were being punished for their years of pranks and nefarious antics. But no, if that were the case, surely Remus would get off the easiest. Really, it would have been loads simpler to deal with if Sirius had turned up with a child. If the timing were different, or things were different, James would have been floored for Remus. But Remus and Tonks didn't even remember each other, what were they supposed to do now?
James couldn't look at her and do nothing. Tentatively at first, and then more assuredly, he placed a hand on Tonks' shoulder.
"Hey," he said gently, "It'll be alright. Remus is one of the best men I know, it'll be okay. How about if I tell him?"
He almost regretted suggesting it. However, he figured that hearing it from him would probably be little less awkward that hearing it from her, for both Remus and her. Remus was brilliantly level-headed, but even this was a little beyond their normal operating procedure. But James had to talk to Remus. Remus first, then Sirius. Sweet zombie Jesus, that was certainly going to be a fun chat.
