Taken somewhat aback by her sudden shift in demeanor, all he could do was stand, baffled as she spoke and kissed his cheek. Strange girl, he thought as he ran his hand through his hair.
James stood in the kitchen, alone. The problem wasn't that Remus had a child, that fact by itself was generally pleasant. Remus would have made a wonderful father. But James had no idea what this would mean for them. Would Remus leave? Would they bring the kid here? What the hell was he going to do about Sirius - and what on earth were they going to do about Tonks?
He couldn't stand knowing this and even considering containing the information. They had to know, both Remus and Sirius. Part of his mind suggested that this was Remus' affair, and if he wanted Sirius to know then Remus should be the one to tell him. With a shake of his head, James opted for his first impulse - to tell them both, separately. They were family. Besides, the last time they had taken to keeping secrets from each other apparently the house had gotten blown up and one of them had died. No, they needed to know, and they needed to know now. With that, James pushed open the swinging kitchen door and set out in search of Remus.
