"Well, yes... normalicy is something that unfortunately escapes us in general." he sighed. Of course he knew that he and Sirius weren't likely to succeed when they'd begun. He just refused to be that pessimistic. "So..." he said a bit quietly, picking up his book once again and using it to hide the expression of pain. "If you must take him out," he said from behind the book. "Would you be so kind as to not tell me? I would appreciate it." he sighed softly... he truly hadn't meant to say much about the subject. Really, it wasn't as though he and Sirius were finished... even if they weren't together, they were always friends. Truly, he wasn't sure if James's reaction to their separation would be pleased, or something else... not that it mattered. There really wasn't anything to be done.
His smile turned wry and a bit knowing at Remus' request. Though in philosophical discussion, he and Remus say eye to eye on several subjects of romance, James had just happened to love a little faster and a bit more frequently than Remus. Something of a silent sigh left his chest as he picked up a book for himself and began leafing through it. They'd get through it, he was certain. Merlin, they'd gotten through far worse. After a while, things would level out. It always had. "Me? Hitting the town chasing after skirts? I have most certainly matured beyond that sort of nonsense," he scoffed from behind his own book, for all the world sounding genuine. It was a response intended to communicate that James' commitment to keeping Remus in the dark about it would extend so far as to deny they'd be doing it at all.
