Characters: Regulus Black and Sirius Black Location: Pub Date: Monday November 24, 2001 Time: Noon Rating: PG
Regulus had honestly been surprised to hear from Sirius. It had been so long since his brother had contacted him, and the last time he had spoken to Sirius there had been something... off about his tone. He wasn't quite sure what had happened or where Sirius had gone, but he was pretty sure that Sirius had been up to something during the time he hadn't heard from him. Some part of him was fearful that the distance had been a result of Sirius finding out where he was living, but the note Sirius hadn't sent didn't indicate otherwise. Still, that didn't mean that Sirius was unaware. It was completely possible that Sirius just wanted to see what his response would be. Which would mean that Regulus was walking into a very uncomfortable situation. He knew that telling Sirius that he was living with a resurrected Bellatrix was going to be an awkward conversation as it was. The last thing he really needed was for Sirius to find out from someone other than him. Regulus figured that it would be best for Sirius to hear it from him where he could at least attempt to explain out the details.
In truth, he was fairly certain that it would be best for Sirius and Bellatrix to just never discover each other in this life time. But, he also knew that was completely unrealistic. And also no longer true; Bella already knew that Sirius had returned. The conversation he had shared with her about Sirius still got slightly under his skin, though he couldn't explain precisely why. Perhaps the cavalier discussion of killing members of the family just wasn't so cavalier for him anymore. Fancy that.
Whatever the reason Sirius had for meeting, Regulus decided to see his brother. He couldn't very well not see Sirius ever again, or not tell him where he was living. So, Regulus left at the time they had designated and arrived at the pub that the had chosen. He headed inside, still feeling a bit self conscious, and sat down to wait for Sirius to arrive.
