A riot? An argument? A simple misunderstanding? At this point, we do not fully know what happened. All we know now is that a group of muggles, no more than 10, were engaged in an exchange of blows and spells with the pureblood wizard Julius Wardress and his cousin, the half-blood witch Abigail Johnson. During their arrest Julius insisted they were merely exercising self-defense. The muggles were taken into muggle government custody, though some muggle officials have been emphatically requesting that Wardress and Johnson be turned over to be processed by muggle authorities, according to a trusted source close to the Prophet.
What will this spell for integration? Who will handle such legal quagmires? We at the Prophet very much look forward to the expected pleasant cooperation between Minsitry and muggle authorities to resolve this troubling incident. This was clearly a one-time fluke, unlikely to be repeated. After all, wizards and muggles have lived harmoniously for centuries. With the right attitude we can certainly make the next century more productive and progressive than the last.
