It was a Wednesday night and unlike most Wednesday nights, Hermione was aimlessly wandering down Diagon Alley. She had left work with the intention of going back to the flat but had felt an overwhelming need to do something for herself. So, with that in mind, Hermione set off for a comfortable place: Diagon Alley.
There were many people walking up and down the alley. Some were shopping, others on dates, and Hermione had no idea what she was doing. She felt a little hesitant to continue on her own but the thought of going back to the flat to do nothing but read or sleep kept her going. Hermione thought it was a little liberating to be out and about by herself. Plus, ever since Diagon Alley had been rebuilt, it felt safer. There was no longer a threat of attacks, so far as anybody knew.
Being in Diagon Alley brought back memories of her lunch with Ginny just a few days before at the Leaky Cauldron. The mysteriously familiar man they had met was still bothering her. That man had been more than familiar; Hermione had felt like she knew him. Not to mention the woman, Nyssa, that Ginny had mentioned. Having seen her with her own eyes, Hermione was beginning to wonder what had really happened the night Voldemort had died. Had Tonks really survived?
Hermione realized she had been standing in front of Flourish and Blott's, looking at the window display. She hadn't been in the bookshop for a few weeks and felt as if she had let it down. Hermione therefore opened the door and immediately smelled the wonderful aroma of books. A stack of bestsellers greeted her first and soon she was lost in their covers.
