It had been six days since the Ministry had taken Blaise into custody. He only knew the length of time because he kept a mental tally of how many times food had been delivered. Of course, he was famished as he'd only been given a weak potion each morning designed to keep him mentally alert while physically drained.
At first, they'd tried to coerce him into speaking against the sect's organizers. Of course, there was nothing for him to tell. At least nothing he was willing to speak of. Their questions revolved around this supposed sect and his involvement in such. True to form, they'd tried to pull Jean's murder in as motive for his actions. Luckily, there was no prodding into the murder itself. Had the murder occurred in Britain the Ministry would have been able to secure a full investigation on their terms. That didn't happen because the French Ministry was not about to blame a well known Wizarding family for committing a murder that had no definitive magical traces to it.
When Occulmency provided nothing more than a recent shopping spree for friends with questionable backgrounds, they bound him and added an anti-sleep potion to the mix. Blaise had been awake for the past three days. Without the ability to sleep he'd lost track of the time as his body couldn't fall into it's normal routines. Though Blaise was certain they'd found nothing, there was talk about sending him to the re-education wing of the prison. However, to do that they had to get him to say something that would incriminate himself in recent unsavory activities.
As a result, he was now lying on his side blood dripping from the side of his mouth, a pain in his side where he was certain a rib was broken, and one hell of a magical burn on his wrists and ankles where they'd bound him. All the while, Blaise cataloged their abuse in his brain determined that the basic spells they used for their righteous endeavors will come back to haunt them later.
