Daphne gave an appreciative nod and reached for a bit of clotted cream. It actually wasn't her favorite, but it looked appealing at the moment. Her mind however was as far from clotted cream as it could possibly idea. Her mind was morphing from idea to idea.
On hearing Draco address the Weasley girl, Daphne looked up at him, "I'm not sure how you managed that, but congratulations, and good luck shaking Granger off of your trail. She's an insistent thorn in the side, if my memory serves me correctly."
Daphne popped a small bit of scone in her mouth, and before speaking again, took a sip of tea.
"Obviously I will have to make a personal effort to mingle at the very least among those that I'd rather not, and possibly," Daphne paused, "It will be important to seem unthreatening. Even better if one can seem beneficial, and I have an idea for that. However, I'm not sure if it would actually cover you in any form."
Daphne gave him a look of sincere regret. If she could come up with a viable plan, she would very much like to extend the courtesy of protection that Draco had shown her upon him. However, at the current time linking ones self to another seemed to be pretty tricky.
"Anything besides Weasley up your sleeve? Any ideas?"
Daphne really hoped their was, because she wasn't certain that Weasley would really pull through for Draco.
