He chuckled softly. "Yes, well... if it weren't for me, you'd not know who Batman is." he grinned, slipping his book behind the counter. "I believe I created a monster when I gave you that comic all those years ago. You know, we have Batman comics here... " he mentioned as he pointed to a wire rack in the corner. "I did think of you, but I wasn't sure your wife would appreciate me feeding the monster." His smile broadened as he teased James good-naturedly.
His smile faded just a bit as James asked about Lily. He'd been vaguely aware of a bit of something between them. Not tension, but... well, oddity for lack of a better term. It was difficult not to notice when you were living in the same home. "Of course I like it here... it's a book store. And no, she's been very busy at the pub... has she been in to see the record store?" he asked, a bit uncertain why James would ask that... weren't they talking, filling each other in on their days?
