Date: Thursday, 11 September Location: The muggle book shoppe where Remus works Time: Afternoon Characters: Remus Lupin and James Potter
Remus wandered around the quiet shoppe, his arms full of books in need of re-shelving. These times were his favourite at work... when there was no one in the shoppe, no one to interrupt his thoughts, nothing to come between he and his beloved books. He hummed contently to himself as he slipped another book onto the shelf in it's place, straightening it with the greatest of care before moving on.
Book after book left his arms, his stack dwindling until they were empty, then returning for more. He continued this way for what must have been an hour, until the cart was empty. Once that work was finished, Remus found a book from the shelf that he'd found fascinating and removed it, setting it aside for himself. He didn't have much money, what with the small amount he attempted to set aside for Teddy and his contribution to life at Grimmauld Place, but he did have enough for the occasional indulgence in the form of a book or a small amount of lovely chocolate. Though, this week's indulgence would be this book, a lovely volume of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart". Whilst he truly enjoyed the large library at Number 12 Grimmauld Place, he found it quite lacking, of course, in muggle books. And so, he'd been attempting to rebuild the modest collection he'd once had.
He smiled to himself as he pulled up a chair behind the counter, satasfied that he'd finished every scrap of work to be done before settling in to devour his new acquisition eagerly.
