Simple Pleasantries Date: Monday, 8 September Location: Diagon Alley Time: Afternoon Characters: Kastra Yaxley and Artemis Laidlaw
It was easy to think of it as spending Elias' money, though in reality they'd both earned it, both put in the same efforts into claiming it. Still, old habits died hard and after all, Elias was the one seeing to the finances. It wasn't even particularly difficult to coax him into turning over the funds she wanted, given the appropriate conditions. Most men were pliable enough when they were well-fed lulled into a pleasant sort of relaxation. It wasn't as though she frequently deigned to arrange this, but it didn't mean she couldn't. Honestly, she didn't see why Cissy had been so worried about the two of them sharing a home. They had yet to do any permanent structural damage.
Kastra made her way into the cozy sort of tea house with only a couple of small bags in her hands. Most of her purchases for the day she'd arranged to have delivered, but she'd always enjoyed carrying her jewelry home with her. The room was pleasant enough, though she couldn't help but recall a sort of fondness for the tea houses she'd frequented in Russia. Their rooms had seemed so much older, taller, with a sort of ominous charm. A small sort of smile tugged her normally placid features as she took her seat, crossing her legs under her champagne and navy blue robes.
She held off ordering anything until Artemis arrived. They'd met at the gala- well, they'd met again at the gala, but Artemis had no way of knowing the girl she'd met those months ago in the book store and Kastra Yaxley were one and the same. But they'd met anew pleasantly enough, conversation littered with the typical trappings of getting acquainted. Such places, however, rarely seemed conducive to more frank discussion. Besides, if Bella's only interactions were relegated to those with Lucius and Cissy, she was going to loose her mind.
