Malfoy Harvest Gala As the guests pass the gates, they are led up a long path leading to the large white manor framed by manicured gardens. Albino peacocks strut around the front lawn, seemingly without care for the large numbers of people arriving and walking past them.
The great mahogany doors open to reveal marble floors and luxury established in every carved sculpture and painted vase. Inside the front door, there is a cloak room manned by a house elf that seems far more intent on his task than should likely be necessary. Beyond that, there are tables lined with charmed dance cards and boutonnières as well as silent auction sheets. Each table has a golden runner on it with small purple grape-like lights. The same lights that litter the ballroom off to the left. Adjacent to the ballroom is a large drawing room, which can also be reached from the main hallway.
House elves bearing plates of hors d'oeuvres and wine choices (red, white or champagne) move through the drawing room as well as the edge of the ballroom.
Draco, as host, had positioned himself near the door, greeting and smiling at each guest, even those whom he'd rather not meet. He was dressed in robes of the palest sage in fine summer silk. Frequently, his thoughts drifted as the wards registered the identities of the arrivals. Occasionally, as he was pulled one way or another by a guest, his eye would want to twitch as the name of someone who was not supposed to be among the living was announced in his head by the wards. Unfortunately, he wasn't ever able to really identify who was who at that point and had to content himself with unvoiced suspicions.
