Malfoy gala
Only two days until the most talked about event of late summer, the Malfoy gala. Sources claim the invitations went out to the creme de la creme of Wizarding society, though suspiciously, it seems no reporters were invited. Some wonder at the very blatant choice of charity considering the late Lucius Malfoy's activities and one witch who requested to remain anonymous said "He should keep his money. It taints every bit of the orphanage and why those children lost their parents to accept Death Eater funds."
However, not everyone is upset at this. Some believe it speaks well of the young Malfoy to be such an open philanthropist. What is on everyone's tongues though is the auction for dances. While it will likely prove a useful technique, we at the Prophet cannot help but wonder how many of our reputable witches will agree to have no control over their dance partners for the evening.
A week of weddings
Next week will see an influx of European wizards choosing England for their wedding destination! Despite the poor summer, wizarding tourism has seen a markable incline, particularly with those taking their vows. The Ministry explains this by the atmosphere of hope which has been growing in our nations boundaries. We anticipate the marriage of several notable couples. Keep your eye on next week's editions for reporting!
Strong words following rumours of breach
Following rumours of breaches in security, the Ministry today spoke to the Prophet of its concerns and intentions.
Recent weeks have seen violent and scaremongoring groups of anti-muggle wizards causing anxiety in our capital and across Britain. The Ministry today swore in a statement to seek out those responsible for what it calls 'dangerous and irresponsible actions and words', and use strict law enforcement methods to contain this problem.
The Ministry's statement said this of anti-muggle groups, "though these people seem to think they are protecting our interests, they are only harming our world. Creating fear and attacking others is legally and morally reprehensible behaviour."
