"The wine cellar could certainly be improved," Lucius commented. He also missed the modest selection of liquor at the Manor, especially in the time he'd left. His father might have been slightly to fond of his alcohol - never to the severe detriment of his reputation, or the family name, though certainly it swayed his judgement in less than financially beneficial directions - but there had always been a wonderful selection.
Lucius had little interest in the building of a stable, but had no objection. He had mostly given over the ordering of the house to Bellatrix, and so far had been very content with her choices. It was different to home; Malfoy Manor was filled with furniture that was centuries old, comfortable and elegant. Bella hadn't been reserved with her choices, and had picked pieces with a good eye for beauty over gaudiness. Narcissa's question failed to have the same affect on Lucius. It was a natural enough question - Malfoy Manor was larger, with rooms very tailored to their purpose. Lucius however had supposed they would add rooms at Langdale as in when the need or desire arose. Certainly the place was comfortable enough for now.
There was faint surprise as Bellatrix suggested they attend Draco's gala. It wasn't that Lucius intended to hide away forever, but his mind had been far from social diversions. It was true though, that if the Yaxley's had indeed returned to England it would likely be such an event to re-introduce them to society.
"Which Ministry officials has Draco invited?" Lucius asked lazily.
