It did Luna a world of good to see Ginny smile like that, erasing every hint of concern in her mind that this recent development with Harry might come between them. She smiled warmly back at Ginny, which didn't falter even when she caught the meaning in Ginny's words and glance. If her eyes went a bit distant, it quickly passed. Half the time, she recalled the whole ordeal as though it had happened to someone else, and she was just a passive observer to someone else's memories of the months spent in that basement. But then her mind was overcome by older memories, when Umbridge had governed Hogwarts and they'd been forced into secret practices, the first time Luna had really felt like she belonged with a group of people. Sitting on her dresser at home was one of those fake galleons that she'd had strung on a cord, composing one of her favorite necklaces.
"I think it's likely going to take a lot of collateral damage before the Ministry realizes what a fool's errand the whole thing is," she replied conversationally.
The problem with secrecy was its limitations, and part of her doubted her father would be willing to bear being the voice of the resistance yet again. Still, it was a thought she hadn't really considered before. It would be possible, she thought, to convince him to publish something; but this time was different, there wasn't really an organization to follow, or much she felt she could say that others weren't already saying.
"Though I suppose, if there are some secret goings-on, it would probably be best if these secretive people were organized," she added, her smile turning just a touch rueful. Not for a single second did Luna think that Ginny had anything to do with that Dark Mark business, but when Ginny set her mind to resisting something (be it a professor, her mother, or the Ministry) she was a Weasely that could have given any of her brothers a run for her money. "I just don't know what can be done to stop the whole bloody mess," she paused as she gave a light laugh, "You know, short of getting a new Minister of Magic."
