As they entered the Leaky Cauldron, Hermione turned toward Ron to address what he had said. "Ron, following her wouldn't have done any good. She probably had too much to drink and got overly emotional," Hermione surmised.
After sitting down at a table, Ginny brought up an interesting point, that the woman had answered to Dora. "Perhaps she didn't actually hear you address her as Dora," Hermione said, trying to bring some common sense into their story. "I know I wasn't there and it is odd that both of you feel the same way... but don't you think this could just be a side effect of grief?"
Hermione gave both brother and sister a concerned look. She was starting to worry about both Ron and Ginny. Losing a brother was possibly the worst thing that had ever happened to them, not to mention the many other people who had died in the war. Was it normal for them to hope and assume that someone was back from the dead? Or hadn't died at all? She didn't want to ruin their belief that the woman they had met was Tonks, but they had to accept reality.
