Daphne tried not to read too much into Draco's nonchalance at her question. They were all struggling to come to grips with the new ideologies that their government was attempting to put into place. She didn't want to make him dwell on it more than she figured he was already doing.
"It's to be a masquerade. An evening event, that will probably stretch until the wee hours of the morning, at least that's how I plan on hooking my sister in to the plan," Daphne smirked. She was thinking that the charity of choice would be none other than her alma mater, but she didn't share this idea with Draco as of yet. There were many details to work out.
"Entertained people tend to be more charitable. Ah, the special last dance, I guess it depends on how many wizards are willing to bid on a witch, and how capable those wizards are of doing so."
Daphne felt a slight coolness come over her at the thought of not being bid on for the final dance. She imagined her flirter, more accessible younger sister would never have that problem, especially with Blaise Zabini showing her particular interest. She was glad to be redirected off of this topic.
"As for the people, we're all hypocrits, some more than others, Draco. I don't think it is reversible, but the effect of pointing it out is entertaining."
