"Are you suggesting that they thought you would?" Daphne asked, her eyebrows arched closer together. The Ministry really were more incompetent than she gave them credit for.
Daphne had not taken a vocal stance on her objections to the current bastardization of wizarding culture. Muggleborns, she understood, well, to a certain degree. However inviting non-magical people into their small, but rich world seemed dooming to Daphne, for reasons she couldn't completely pin point.
"I am considering it, perhaps late October. I'm hoping that Astoria will help host it, though I haven't spoken to her of it, yet," with a slight pause, she added with amusement,"I think your fundraiser is particularly interesting, Draco."
Daphne didn't find it so strange that Narcissa was sitting this one out. Hadn't Draco mentioned the younger generation stepping up, was it not their time?
And what an odd time for it to be so. If she had been born years earlier, she could have stepped up in a time of power, instead of a time where she wasn't quite sure where she stood in the world, but merely knew whom she stood by... on most occassions.
