Wizard and Muggle Pair Attacked!
by Melinda Lance (ooc by Kimberly) Sunday evening, Kiaran and Caroline Thomas were leaving the Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade when a conjured rock storm began to pelt them with knut sized rocks. Witnesses say that the rocks came from the sky. No one seemed to be able to report on the source of the spell, however. Kiaran eventually managed a protego to protect he and his wife from the onslaught. Penelope Cross, long-time resident of Hogsmeade was one of the witnesses. "It was terrible. I haven't seen anything like it since You Know Who and his followers. When the protective spell was activated, the rocks changed direction, landing in the street all around, then they disappeared." Cross, as well as several other witnesses admitted to hearing slurs and antagonism as well, echoing as if coming from all sides. "Wizards and Muggles don't mix!" as well as "Pick a world!" were heard alongside some more colourful language we don't care to print here.
Kiaran and Caroline were admitted to St Mungo's and found to have only minor injuries. Kiaran works in the Department of Magical Games and Caroline stays home in anticipation of their first child. Both are doing well, though shaken. Neither would comment further.

Dark Mark spotted!
by Filomena Frampton (ooc by Sam)
Today the people of London are left wondering if they have been victim to vandals with a poor sense of humour, or a more sinister element. The Dark Mark, greatly feared symbol of You Know Who, has been daubed on muggle buildings above our Ministry itself, and on numerous properties in the muggle community associated with wizards.
A spokeswitch for the Auror team gave this statement "though people are not panicking, there are many who have felt deeply uncomfortable by this disgusting act. It reminds many of terrible and painful times which we had all hoped to put behind us. Anyone caught committing this crime or protecting those who do will be treated most harshly."
Whilst the Ministry wishes to remind the public to keep recent events in perspective, senior employees have expressed their disappointment in those members of the community who have reacted inappropriately to talk of integration.
Tony Blair thanks for warm welcome!
by Jonathan Peters
Muggle Prime Minister today conveyed his thanks to all Witches and Wizards, commenting on how welcome and comfortable he has been made to feel. Mr Blair acknowledged that adjusting to the use of magic will be a challenge for muggles, but said that after his own experience he is confident that his people will adapt well.
In meetings on Friday to discuss muggle and wizarding relations, Mr Blair met with our own Minister Kingsley Shaklebolt. Sources say that the meetings were successful and that both Ministers plan to meet again to further their plans.
