What now Date: 24th April 2001 Time: Early morning Location: Grimmauld Place Characters: Nymphadora Tonks, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin Rating: PG
After visiting with Andromeda, Tonks again felt a bit lost. She had hugged her mother goodbye and waved to the little boy. It wasn't that she didn't want to be with her mother, but it felt awkward to see Teddy, a son she didn't remember having. And on top of that the house felt empty with her father. Tonks felt secluded and lonely without his laughter. As a parting gift Andromeda gave her her old broom, she had been saving it for Teddy to use. Poor child, there was probably ten times better brooms out there after 3 years.
She had spent the three or had it been four, days since just flying about. Barely sleeping, but when she had to she made herself comfortable in a tree in a park or sleeping on the fresh grass by a river. Anything was better than being in that house. In these last few days she had to force her hair to change, otherwise it stayed the mousy brown that was natural to her. It had worked out for when she saw Ginny and Ron at the pub, but they brought out the pink in her. She was so proud of them. Her eyes were bloodshot to having slept badly when she finally decided to ask to stay with Sirius. She just wanted to be somewhere a bit more normal to how she remembered things. Where everything was the same. Well sort of.
Having apparated to just down the street from Gimmauld Place, Tonks decided she needed to walk some before going to face Sirius and Remus. Mostly to face Remus was going to be less than pleasing. It was his son too that she had seen. He looked like him too, except the technicolour hair. How was she suppose to break this to him? When she saw him last, he didn't even know who she was. Maybe she could push it off, wait until she felt it was a good in to the conversation.
She stopped at the front steps and tried to put on a smile. Walking up to the door she knocked, in a pattern that was Tonks' signature when she was a child. Something so that Sirius would know it was her. Another deep breath and she was ready.
