Pansy moved through the doors, and gave the elderly male clerk a nod as he greeted her with a solomn, "Good day, Miss."
She had decided to get some new writing materials. She had grown tired of the Muggle things she had been using; they had the oddest writing implements that did not work very well. She actually hated the way they wrote and felt. She preferred quills and parchment, and was tired of suffering with the others. So she had a pouch full of coins, ready to stock up. There were a wide assortment of items to be found, and she was curious; she hadn't realized that the store carried things other than parchment and quills. She wondered when they started carrying such pretty boxes, and other collectable type items; if she had know, she would have been inside one sooner.
She stopped at a display of beautiful boxes, of various shapes and sizes. Puzzled, she looked at one closely, and was delighted to notice the small bird motif done in an inlay of black wood. The birds looked like magpies, and she knew she would get. it. She was examining the other boxes' designs when she heard the clerk say, "Good day, Sir," and she turned to see who had walked it.
Of course, she thought to herself. It just figures! What kind of luck do I have?! Pansy steeled herself, her plan in mind, Ignore him. She turned her attention back to the boxes, trying to decide how she could snub him best.
