Owl to Harry Potter Date: 22nd April 2001 Time: mid morning Location: Training Course, Ministry Characters: Ron Weasley, Harry Potter Rating: PG , language
They gave the trainees a mid-morning break, and Ron wondered what Harry was doing right then. The group had been split up into different rotations, and this time, Ron had been separated from Harry, probably for the entire week. It was a right pain the ass, he thought, as he got a drink of water, but he wasn't worried about it necessarily. It just ment he would barely see Harry for the week, and he knew he had to ask his about Friday. Finding quill and some parchment, he took the opportunity of the break to scriblbe out a quick note to Harry, and he sent it off on the message network. It was like sending an owl, without the mess. He remembered his father telling him what a bloody awful mess it had been when they sent those inter-department messages by owl. Now, one just folded the note up like a paper airplane, and put it into the tube on the wall, marked 'Messages,' and off it flew. He thought for a a moment and then wrote,
Harry, Sorry I've been missing you. The weekend was rather busy, as per my usual schedule. Anyhow, Ginny and I were talking about taking George to see a Muggle film on Friday evening. We'd be tickled if you could join us. I'll ask Hermione as well; even for not being able to see her for but maybe an hour a day, I think I'll be seeing more of her than you this week.
How goes it? Anything new to tell? The shop was busy on Saturday; my 'date' with Hermione was amazing as always on Sunday. At least I get to spend one day with her a week, you know? Otherwise we are like bloody owls, passing each other in the air. I barely get to see either of you during the week. Damn good thing we live together or that would be reduced to like zero time interacting with you or the girl.
I think Ginny is gonna bring Luna on Friday evening, and you know how it is, the more the merrier. Come if you can. If not, OH! BLOODY HELL! Almost forgot! Sunday. Can you come to the Burrow for a mid-day meal? We are all going to try to go. You are welcome, you know. You are family.
So, that's it, Potter! Two invitations. Two chances to spend some glorious time with me and the mates. Let me know. Hope your week of training is going just as good as mine. Why they split us all apart, I can fathom!
Your mate, Ron
Ron re-read it, and satisfied with the message, folding it and watched it get sucked up in the tube. He turned back to the instructor and they began the next series of exercises.
