The quick stop by Harry's flat had been quick, neither Ron nor Hermione had been home. It wasn't as though she and Harry were keeping things between them a secret, but Luna wasn't unfamiliar with the way friends and acquaintances tended to complicate things. Besides, it was lovely, the rhythm she and Harry had together. Arriving in Paris only a short while later, the two of them found themselves in a secluded alley, the bustling public streets only just around the corner. Luna slipped her hand into Harry's, smiling broadly up at him. "Have I mentioned that this was a fantastic idea?"
He grinned, slinging his pack over his shoulder and letting Luna grab his hand. He squeezed hers tightly and nodded. "I think so too. I'm so excited that I can hardly contain myself. So I reckon we should find a hotel first so we can drop our things. Oh, but lunch..." he mumbled as his stomach growled with hunger.
After ordering, Luna turned back to Harry and was almost surprised when she didn't feel her cheeks flush. Maybe she was started to get used to the way he said sweet things so honestly. She bit her lip a little. As much as she liked how they were keeping things quiet, she knew it was only right to mention it to Ginny, if only for the fact that she was Luna's closest friend. "Harry," she began a little reluctantly. "Would it be alright with you if I mentioned.. us to Ginny?"
"Well, I suppose she'll find out sooner or later anyway... I'm expecting any moment for the Prophet to find us. Likely best that she hears it from one of us." he shrugged. "I mean, obviously I don't want her hurt, but she's going to find out no matter what, yeah?"
Luna's smile turned a little embarrassed. The idea that the two of them would be receiving much public attention hadn't really entered her thoughts. After all, she had nothing to do with Harry's association with the Ministry or anything like that. "I should think we're pretty safe in France," she smirked. "And it's not as though anyone even knows we're here- that's half the fun of a quick getaway."
"Well, yes... I suppose my point was I'd rather she find out from us than the papers." he smiled, taking a bite of the food that was just set before him. "Anyway, do you think she'll take it alright? I don't want to hurt her feelings, but she and I just didn't work..." he shrugged. "I imagine she'll be fine with it, don't you?"
Luna had heard Ginny say often enough to those who always wanted to pester her about Harry that things hadn't worked out, wouldn't work out. It wasn't something that Ginny seemed to enjoy discussing, so Luna had never desired to push her to rehash everything. "Ginny's lovely," Luna said with an affectionate nod. And she was - Ginny was kind, clever, and sensible. "And I think she'll be okay with it. It'll likely come as something of a surprise, but I think she'll be fine."
