"Above all things," Narcissa said, straightening up, "be careful. Don't risk getting caught." If he was, they would all be in trouble; Lucius, herself, Draco. And Narcissa had been interrogated enough by the Ministry to want to avoid it for the rest of her life. "Meeting in public would be very dangerous. Here will do for now." She wasn't watched closely anymore, at least, she didn't think so, but it would be suspicious to be so easy with a friend who had popped out of nowhere. The Malfoys weren't quite the cream of society's crop these days.
"I could get the owl, before you leave," she offered. "You still favour eagle owls?" She wasn't quite sure of the correct ceremony for a departure like this, but being part of the reason for turning Lucius out of what was technically his own home, she felt obliged to help him gain some of the comforts he was used to. He'd never not lived in a mansion - the large, comfortable, elegant houses of good wizarding families were small to him - and this wasn't under the direction of the Dark Lord or some other master. Tibby had been directed to clean, and cook when required, though he wouldn't be available to Bella and Lucius' every whim as he was to Mistress and Master Draco. Narcissa had, not without difficulty, released a few of her husband's belongings; some clothes, some books, items she knew Draco wouldn't miss and which hopefully he wouldn't notice were gone at all.
She didn't feel ready to part with some of the more intimate items of her husband's life. Lucius' small items of ornamentation, possessions she had removed from the study before Draco had moved into it, his favourite cloak. After nearly three years, Narcissa had taken most of Lucius' everyday items out of the bedroom - it was hers now, not theirs - but a few robes still occupied a corner of her wardrobe, and not every trace of his presence was gone. Narcissa slept more to the centre of the bed than she had before, but still only reached to one of the bedside tables.
"Is there anything else you need, that I can provide?" she asked him seriously, slowly taking the two steps that brought her to the table. "If there is, now would be the time to let me know." Tonight would probably be their chance for private goodbyes, their chance to say the honest words that had to be restrained in front of sister and son.
