Fathers and...
Characters: Draco and Lucius Malfoy Location: Malfoy Manor Date/Time: Wednesday, June 25, 2001 2pm Rating: PG
Draco was in the study, looking at the accounts, making scrawling notes on a separate parchment before recopying them in neater hand in the ledgers themselves. He had been working on them all day, the lunch Tibby had brought was only half eaten.
Growth had been slow, but steady. The investments were moderate, Draco hadn't really expected grand growth, though he estimated the time was right to begin to look into more risky investments that might bring in faster revenue. It would likely seem strange to someone not accustomed to the vast wealth of the Malfoys to see him so cautious. However, having lost so much of his inheritance, Draco was far more aware of it than he imagined most would think he was.
He could just as easily work on the accounts in the garden, and usually preferred to do so. However, since their number of guests had increased, Draco found he could think better behind the charmed doors of the study. He much preferred to bury himself in the work as opposed to keeping one ear open for the specters of his father or deranged aunt.
