Backdated to last night near the end of the Gala Date: Saturday, June 14 Time: 9:45 pm Location: Burlase Chateau, aka the French Zabini Manor Characters: Blaise Zabini, NPCs Jean Burlase, Chancellor Brown, Brown's aide, and Michalea Zabini
Blaise had ensured that his beloved step-father met with Chancellor Brown. The two men hit it off instantaneously. Their common bond being their shared love of art. As the two men spoke, Blaise accidentally mentioned the piece tucked away in Jean's private viewing room. The men invited Blaise to join them, but he politely excused himself in order to assist his mother in bidding their guests farewell. A smile on his face, Blaise watched as Jean led the Chancellor and his aide off to his private gallery.
A few moments later, a waiter took drinks into the gallery at Blaise's urging. After the drinks were delivered, Blaise watched the room from the far door which was slightly open. The Chancellor and his aide had been given drinks that would cause momentary dizziness allowing Blaise just enough time to carry out his plans. With a levitation charm, one of the banisters that held the ropes that blocked viewers from the prize lifted and collided with the back of Jean's head. Jean stumbled and instinctively pulled his wand and aimed it at the aide who was closer to him to than the Chancellor. Blaise however, blocked the spell as Jean tumbled backwards unable to balance himself. Quickly, Blaise ushered the two men through the other door. Once they were in the main corridor on the front side of the gallery's primary entrance, Blaise oblivated the men and sent them on their way. He then returned to the gallery and vanished the imposter piece that hung on the wall knowing full well the original was in Brown's secondary home.
Blaise followed the Chancellor and his aide out into the main gallery discussing the artwork they'd just seen. When Michalea inquired as to Jean's whereabouts, Blaise simply stated that last he'd seen the man had escorted a guest out onto the grounds. Of course, Michalea knew where her husband was. But to let the crowd know would do them no good. The officials would be called an hour or so after all the guests left. Then, the investigation and fall out could officially begin.
