Re: 9:47
Draco rolled his eyes at the comment regarding Pansy. Even while in school, he'd have said Weasley had more talent than Parkinson. Well, maybe only to himself and only in his innermost thoughts. Now though, he paused a few moments trying not to completely lose his temper at her. What? She wasn't satisfied that he was being decent so now she was intent on irritating him. Just grand.
The elf interrupted them, and Draco kept his frown hidden deep inside as he watched her debase herself by being overly polite to the creature. His displeasure deepened when he realized he was placed with the choice of being himself or being decent in her eyes. That she would likely question his motives even more if he was polite to the elf aided his choice.
"No, I'll take Glenfarclas 30 year, or the best Speyside available barring that."
Draco turned back to her, ignoring the house elf's bowing and groveling. He hadn't been rude, though he would not debase himself by treating property as if it were equal. There were limits.
The distraction hadn't been enough to keep him from his limits with her. "If you'd ever accept you were better than someone, you might actually get further, even in your Quidditch career. Not everyone was created equal, but you seem intent on degrading yourself at every turn. Why is that?"
Draco hadn't meant to sound so aggressive about it, but it seemed she was always ready and willing to make herself sound worse just to elevate someone else. It was not her job nor her place. It was an insult to everything this room stood for. it was a disgrace to the blood flowing through her veins and the wand he knew was stashed somewhere on her person.
