Re: 9:15pm
Draco was impressed with Ron's lack of reaction. The extended hand, however, was surprising. Still, given the illusions of the evening, shaking hands with a blood traitor was far better than other potential interactions. Having seen Pans on the arm of a Muggle who dared address the once Queen of Slytherin as "dear" and her not hexing him into oblivion had been enough to remind him that his own defection was nothing in comparison.
He took Ron's hand, shaking it twice without hesitation. The handshake was firm, not aggressive, and Draco nodded as he did so.
"Yes, quite. Far more pleasant than I could have imagined such an event being considering the mixed company." Let him take the comment as he wished. It was entirely true, and left a fair amount to the imagination for misinterpretation.
"I see you took advantage of the autograph session," his eyes motioned to the photograph in hand. "I've never been the autograph type myself, but I thought I would see the who's who of who came."
It was a simple admission, and Draco felt no shame in offering this token information for the return he'd surely get. There were far too many things at stake to have him not work this evening to its fullest, and he needed tonight to be an unmitigated success if he wanted his mother to agree to host one in August, especially as he'd already mentioned to both Blaise and Daphne he would be holding one.
