Sirius and Ginny 7.00pm
Ginny stood outside of Number 12 Grimmauld Place. It reminded her strongly of her Hogwarts years. Her year as a teenager spent in this place, the hub of all Order of the Phoenix activity. It had been an exciting time, but a frightening one. One in which she had been in constant contact with Harry, Tonks... and even Sirius, a much older Sirius than the one she had shared a lunch with earlier in the week and extended the invitation for a night out and free alcohol, and hopefully good company.
She pushed the thought of old Sirius out of her mind. Sirius now wasn't quite the Sirius she had (barely) known. That Sirius had been a convict, but more than that a slightly haunted individual that had been Harry's godfather, a provider for the Order of Phoenix. This Sirius was younger, more light-hearted, and far handsomer-- at least in Ginny's eyes. She found it hard to really connect the two individuals as the same. Though she had no expectations to come from this, she hoped they could at least have at the very least have a bit of fun with the Gala tonight. Ginny was wearing her team colors, an emerald green dress, and gold jewelery. She knocked and waited at the foot of Grimmauld place.
Sirius was almost dressed when there was a knock at the door. He sent Kreacher, instructing him to only allow inside a woman with red hair. Soon he would speak to James and Remus about fixing the wards that protected Grimmauld Place, in the hope they could share the protection the building offered. The only thing that had held him back so far was a lingering reluctance to be truly linked to this house.
Kreacher answered the door with a low bow and showed Ginny into the dining room, leaving her only for a moment before Sirius was making his way down the stairs doing up the buttons of his shirt. He reached the bottom and smiled at her, moving forward to kiss her cheek "You look beautiful," he told her.
Ginny stepped into Grimmauld Place. It looked not much changed. She knew somewhere here Remus Lupin and Harry's father dwelt. Before she could think more on that, Sirius had come down the stairs looking quite striking.
Ginny received the kiss on the cheek with a smile and gave him an appreciative look. "And look at you, very nice." It was only then that she began to feel any nerves at all. "So, ready for France? Thank you again for coming."
"No need to thank me," Sirius said with a smile, "you're the one with the ticket for free food and booze." Despite maintaining financial independance for the small part of his adult life, Sirius still had a strong appreciation for anyone who wanted to fill his stomach for free. "Born ready," he said, leading her through to the kitchen "this way." Fortunately the building was still somehow connected to the floo network. There was a freshly bought tub of poweder sitting atop the fireplace. "Before we go, we better work on my 'disguise'." They had discussed this over lunch earlier in the week, a subtle change that wouldn't make a huge amount of difference, but would be enough. Even if someone did recognise him there wasn't much they could do about it, and most people didn't walk around declaring the presence of the dead amongst them.
"Ah yes, I forget how strong of a bribe free booze is," Ginny grinned. She followed Sirius to the fireplace. Standing there in front of him, her green dress didn't match the new decor. "Very Gryffindor," she noted in obvious approval. For a long time the combination of red and gold had inspired many things in Ginny, comfort, pride, courage...
She looked at him, tilting her head to the side slightly. "How do you feel about brown eyes?" Ginny was thinking something darker than her own a bit on the inky side, or maybe a light brown close to hazel. She liked his dark hair and couldn't find anything else that she really cared on changing.
