It certainly beats pub-crawling Characters: Luna Lovegood, Ginny Weaseley, Hermione Granger Location: Luna's flat Date: Saturday, May 31 Time: Night Rating: PG
Luna never remembered her mother painting her toenails. For her tenth birthday, for whatever reason, her father had given her a small vial of polish, along with her first real broom. Luna had been an avid fan ever since. Perhaps it was how much time she spent outdoors, the speed with which she liked to play the cello, or just inattention, but Luna never seemed to avoid chipping the color on her fingernails and so she rarely ever bothered with them. Sitting atop her dresser was the red shade she had picked out for Ginny. Measures of Beethoven softly filled the rooms of her open, airy apartment. The windows that composed the wall of her living room had their curtains drawn, letting the fading sun light the room.
Meanwhile, Luna sat at her desk, having resolved to sort through a box of parchment she'd brought home from the office. If their filing system was more sensibly managed she doubted the entire magazine would come to a screeching halt every time and article was dropped. Maybe Hermione would be able to point her in the right direction of the right enchantments, as Luna suspected the Ministry ought to have some clever system in place. It wasn't particularly difficult work, but every document had to be inspected, making the whole process remarkably time-consuming. She looked up to check the time. On her high ceiling stretched an elaborate moving mural that depicted the charted solar system, revealing the date and time in addition to tracking the various planetary and lunar cycles. She sincerely doubted she'd be finished by the time Ginny and Hermione showed up.
