Feeling as if she had spoken about Quidditch quite frequently as of late, Ginny chose just to take in Ron's compliments and focus on his own career. She was curious to know how many more spells Ron had learned. Ginny always had a liking of spells. She was rather good at Charms, but tended to prefer jinxs or hexes. Most likely this was due to growing up around six brothers, especially Fred and George.
"I always did like the D.A.," Ginny grinned. She really had learned a lot there. She couldn't imagine knowing how to make a Patronus without Harry's teaching. "I guess that would be obvious since Neville and I kept it up after you three left..." Before more could be thought or implied from that statement, the redhead added, "It must be intense."
Intense, like the question that Ron had offered up to her. If she had been dating someone, she would have mentioned it to Ron, but it was doubtful, she'd have gone into detail. All of her brothers had showed a protective side when it came to Ginny's love interests in the past. To answer the question, Ginny smiled,"Oh, you mean besides weekly confessions of undying love from Heathcote Barbary? I'm afraid not, not at the moment."
Ginny knew that Ron was referring to Harry, but it wasn't particularly something she wished to delve into at the moment. If Ron wanted to talk about that particular relationship, he'd have to ask his best mate.
Ginny had hoped, even anticipated, a relationship revival with Harry after the war was over if they were both living, of course. And they were living, it just never quite took off the way it did at Hogwarts. Life after Hogwarts, after the war for Ginny, and seemingly Harry, had been incredibly busy. Neither of them were to blame, really, so they still maintained a friendship. Ginny admitted to herself that it was very seldom that she saw Harry these days anyway, at least more seldom than she was used to. All in all, the initial confusion that the girl felt had turned into acceptance and later contentment.
She hadn't completely written off the Boy Who Lived, now a man. But,Ginny had spent years of her life thinking or daydreaming about Harry. It wasn't going to kill her to have a few years of her life to herself, or maybe, if she was lucky with someone else.
"Ron, please, we both know that I'm not an angel. Someone does have to keep you fed though, and I can't let Hermione and Mum do all the work." Ginny softened these words with a wink.
