Dora,
Meet me at the house about 1pm. I'm bringing a helper!
Sirius
Sirius sent the owl ahead of he and Ginny. It didn't seem a good idea to take her to Grimmauld Place, not until Harry and James had managed to get together.
He felt a strange mixture of apprehension and excitement travelling to his old house. It was a place that hadn't seen too many happy times - he'd moved there shortly after James had married Lily, unwilling to inflict himself upon his friends, and determined to make his own way. It was by no means a luxurious house, but it was a base. Sirius hadn't spent large amounts of time here; there were always things to be done for the Order, or places he needed to be. But it had been his, and Uncle Alphard had given it to him. It seemed fitting now that Dora should take it, when she had no where to go.
Sirius withdrew his arm from Ginny and ran a hand through his windswept hair. He smiled at her, "This is the place." Side-along apparition had been the simplest option, with Ginny never having been here before. He couldn't help thinking how much better it would be when he could get to the burrow and retrieve his motorbike.
"Just along here," he told her, having taken to a thin over-grown alley out of muggle sight. He walked along the alley quickly, flicking his wand ahead of him to clear stinging nettles and sharp thorns out of their path. He stopped abruptly half way along, turning to look at the moss covered wall "Here we go."
Making sure that she had caught up with him, he turned and with a twist of his wand the wild tangle of thistles and thorns formed across the alley again.
With slightly more elaborate movement than necessary, he turned his wand to the wall, smiling at her as the wall parted before them, "If you wait just inside here I'll go around the front and find Dora."
A wild and over-grown garden had opened up in front of them, though a magically clear stone path led around to a small courtyard. Confirming that she would be all right here, he darted the length of the rest of the alley - round to the front of the house to find Dora.
