Luna's apartment was open and spacious. Windows spanned the largest wall, drenching her sitting area and desk with soft sunlight. The kitchen, which was only partially walled off from the rest of the space, had already been set with cutting boards, knives, and a suitable pan. She had pulled a dark green chair, from the dining table nestled comfortably in the kitchen, over next to her overstuffed powder blue couches. Back to the window, bow in hand, she was surrounded by pages of music scattered around her like fallen autumn leaves. She had concluded her cello was named Aramis, and spent the morning getting acquainted with him. It had a deeper, richer sound than her first, a difference she was quickly appreciating.
Abandoned on her desk were the three articles she had yet to review, having decided they could wait until tomorrow. Therein lay the true appeal of the instrument in her arms: it was enticing enough to distract her from work once in a while. Another note landed poorly. After a quizzical look and a moment's contemplation, Luna quickly slid the end pin up, opting to cradle the cello on her ankles. With that, the piece seemed to flow uninhibited. Closing her eyes, she contentedly eased into a comfortable rhythm, her wandering mind completely unaware of how much time had passed or for how long she had played.
