This place was weird, that was for sure. Nearly everyone was the wrong gender, which was a headtrip and a half even before you factored in the fact that one of those wrongly-sexed people was another version of Soriah. Named Sirius, no less, which was apt, assuming he was also an animagus, which she was going to bet on as likely.
Weird, yeah, but also kind of cool, and definitely an adventure. This wasn't how Soriah had been expecting to spend her summer holiday, so to speak, but hey, it could definitely be worse. At least there was no war on here, as far as she could tell. And sure, the things Romola had told her had been dark and depressing, but Soriah was making the conscious choice to ignore them. They hadn't happened yet, not for her. So no, thank you, no need to freak out about them continually.
Besides, maybe the bloke she was talking to- had just effectively invited over- was a version of [Peter] who hadn't betrayed anyone at all. [Peter] might have been a kind of obnoxious little thing, but she was their obnoxious little thing, and Soriah wasn't going to write her- or any version of her- off before she actually did something to deserve it.
The tentative knock had [Peter] written all over it, and so she didn't hesitate before flinging the door open and practically pouncing on the young man on the other side, enveloping him in a hug designed to be as awkward as it was warm, because teasing Pettigrew had always been one of her favourite pastimes.
"Afternoon, love!" she enthused, finally letting go and stepping back to get a good look at him. "Look at that hair! Amazing."
