Five minutes hadn't even passed yet but Lux waiting outside the door and in the cold felt like she had been standing there for hours. She could barely feel her toes or fingers, and she was beginning to think that she had knocked on an unoccupied house. It unlikely though, since she could see some light coming from the inside, and if she wasn't hearing things, there was some shuffling about. She wished the person at the other side would hurry the damn up and she had already raised her fist to knock loudly again until the door suddenly opened.
It had taken her by surprise and the almost violent swing had her stumbling a bit backwards. She stared at the stranger intently, gauging if he was dangerous or if she knew him. He did not look familiar in any way or form, but she was still deciding if she'd be safe around him. At that point, however, she had no choice but to take her chances; she really had no plans on staying out in the cold a moment longer. Lux brushed past the unknown boy and made a beeline for the fireplace, sitting on the ground.
"I wasn't screaming, and there's nobody else around here to hear me," she muttered with a roll of her eyes. Her hands were raised to the fire, feeling the warmth, and that caused her to smile appreciatively. "Do you have any blankets? I could really use one." She asked, not even the least bit politely. She still had that smile though, but it was rather the entitled kind.
