Gene honestly didn't know what to expect. He'd been excited at first when he saw Georgie had arrived, but the confusion had started almost immediately. Being that he had figured out there was a girl version, many in fact, running around in other worlds nothing really bothered him at this point. He'd even talked to his daughter from another reality, so it really couldn't get any weirder than that. Gene liked to think he was pretty open-minded in general, and that had only grown since coming here. You couldn't really ignore people coming from different times and realities. So he wasn't surprised when his sister remembered things that he didn't. What he was surprised by was the fact that she got mad at him for asking about her twin. Fred and Georgie were two halves of one whole, but they still fought often enough. Maybe she was just in a row and mentioning her enemy-of-the-moment had set her off.
Despite this rationalization, Gene felt a sense of trepidation in the pit of his stomach. If it was indeed nothing then why did he feel this overwhelming dread deep down? Why had Georgie acted like he'd committed a cruel joke? These questions plagued him as he waited for his sister to get here, and Gene found he couldn't sit still as he worried over what could possibly be the matter. Pacing back and forth in the living room of his house, he tried to mull over every single possibility. Recalling all the reasons Georgie and Fred had gotten into it over the years was impossible, as they'd been doing better since opening the shop. The war had kind of thrown a wrench into silly spats anyway, and Gene honestly couldn't remember a time they'd all gotten along better. So what could it be?
Deciding to meet her at the docks, since he couldn't stay here another second, he left the house and headed in the direction of the boats. Halfway there, he spotted a familiar head of red hair, making his lips turn up in a smile despite his anxiety. Jogging the last few steps, he came to a stop in front of Georgie, noting that she looked rather cross. "Looking for me sis?"
