Riley'd spend the majority of the day (since she got home from work that is) curled up in her bed. She couldn't even vaguely remember the last time she'd been this upset. And she hated herself for not being stronger than this. This was what she wanted to do, what she had wanted to do since she was a little girl. And now that she was actually doing it...the very thought of it was making her ill. The sight of that room and all that dried blood...she hated to even think of it. It was enough to make her want to quit now.
She knew she'd get used to it eventually. She'd be able to put aside these feelings and work on solving the puzzle at hand. But wasn't that just as disgusting? That she could look at a scene like that and keep her cool? She didn't know what to think or do or...anything.
What she did know was that she needed Noel. Once he rang that doorbell, she yanked herself out of bed and answered it without a second thought and greeted him with a weak smile. "Hi."
