Would it be out of the ordinary to say that she had been looking forward to this day since he had first suggested it? Or, rather, she had been looking forward to it. Perhaps the oddity in it all, then, would be that she was getting nervous and suddenly second doubting something that she had been so incredibly sure of just days before. She never felt this unsure about anything. She was normally quite confident in everything that she did, but this? She couldn't help but feel as though she were making an honest mistake. She couldn't be doing things like this. It wasn't a date; she knew that. But would dining with him eventually lead onto territory that she wasn't sure she wanted to tread on? She hadn't been expecting anything that happened with Jaq, and now that she had the opportunity to take the reins and not do anything... That option was looking very appealing. More than Thai food was, at any rate. She was walking down to the place where they were to meet, and although her legs were moving her mind wasn't moving with them. She was quickly contemplating her choices before it was too late. She was making a mistake. She was going to regret it. She was doing something that was completely and totally unnesecarry. Besides, after their argument the previous day, she doubted if he even wanted to meet up with her. She'd rather it be that way. Perhaps if she just ignored him then he would leave her alone and eventually forget about her. She wouldn't have to deal with him or the confusion of not knowing what was happening anymore. She stopped at the entrance of an alley, her face flushed as she looked around. The place was just around the corner. She stared for a moment before she turned on her heel, and started to walk back in the direction she had come from. She would stand him up, he'd get upset, and he'd probably not want to talk to her anymore. In theory, it was the perfect solution. If she were to think about it, she might have felt bad for it, but the logical side of her mind was quickly at work and this? This, by far, was going to be the best option. For the both of them. |
