It was a good thing that Cadence couldn't read Rupert's thoughts. If she knew that he thought of her as 'pure', she wouldn't be able to stop herself from laughing in his face. They'd have to get to know each other better, though. That was the natural way of things.
When he commented on his own funeral, she frowned at him. "Why do you talk like that? That's not true. At least four people would show up." Her smile reappeared to let him know she was teasing him.
She laughed as he nudged her. "Aw no, you're not one of those 'world domination' types, are you? You seem too nice for that." She wondered how much of the world he actually knew about. After all, he didn't even know that New York is an expensive town to live in. Tilting her head slightly, she was able to look out the window upside-down. The sun was setting and the sky was an orange-ish pink. Without a soft 'ah!' sound, she hopped agiley up off the floor and strolled to the kitchen.
