What Cadence didn't want to tell him was that, if he ever heard her singing seriously, he'd fall helplessly in love with her. She didn't want to tell him because she wasn't planning on making the mistake of singing one of her 'shower ballads' while he was in earshot. True, she liked him and she liked spending time with him, but she didn't think it would be good if he fell in love with her. At least not at this point. She always left room for possibilities. But also, if he ever did love her, she wanted him to love her for her, not for her voice.
Instead of letting this be known, she gave Rupert a smile. "I am known for living up places... It's not a good idea to invite me to a funeral for that reason."
"Well, if I ever see you asleep on the couch, I'll be sure to tuck you in." She batted her eyes cutely. She watched him as he brought himself beside her on the floor, giggling lightly at the fact that he actually joined her. Turning over onto her side to face him, she looked into his eyes, still smiling brightly. "Are you kidding? I am very happy. I'm with you now, and we're in New York City, the greatest city in the world! What about you? Are you happy?"
