Lucy listened while Anton explained, about his job and about his parents, though she was keeping an eye on the road now. Or trying to. She couldn't help but glance over at him every now and then, so he knew she was paying attention to him. "Aww! I love little kids!" It seemed like everything they found to talk about made Lucy practically squeal overenthusiastically. But it wasn't patronizing, and it wasn't fake -- that was just the way she was -- naturally exciteable. "But I know what you mean. I think it's a good point that it's a lot of fun to play with them, but it's always nice to be able to hand them back to their parents at the end of the day." Lucy had thought about having children, and she wasn't opposed. She might like to someday, if she ever met the right person. But for now, she was content to babysit for Harri's son, Danny. That was all the baby fix she needed.
She sat up in her seat and saw a familiar landmark up ahead. "Right there. You see that convenience store? The one that says 'Short Stop' in big blue letters? We need to turn left there."
