Andrew heard, just barely but he'd heard what she'd said, and now he understood why she disliked celebrating her birthday. Tightening his arms around her just a little bit he rested his cheek against the top of her head, wanting to give her any type of comfort that he could.
What was he suppose to say? What could he say to make this any better? There were plenty of things running through his mind but nothing that needed to be said right now. Telling her that he didn't think her parents would want her to stop celebrating wouldn't ease her pain any, neither would saying his was sorry for what had happened. Mentioning that it was so many years ago might possibly get him smacked....Holding her was all that he could do.
