Kimberly was sick. There were no ifs, ands or buts, about it. If there was one thing that Kimberly hated more than anything, it was being sick. And not for the reason most might suspect. Most just hated being sick because of how they felt. Kimberly hated being sick because she was never as productive as she could be. She was never coherent enough to do what needed to be done properly. And work wasn't the only thing this applied to. It applied to her daughter too. She couldn't find the energy to cook for her or play with her. Mostly she had to rely her brother Richard for that. Richard never minded that, of course, but Kimberly didn't want to inconvience him too much.
So while she was still able, she was going to work her little butt off. She knew she was going to be sicker tomorrow. Might have to even call in to work. A rarity unless it had to do with Amelia. And of course, one of the other maids had to take off for half a day because of something her son. So Kimberly was going to have to just deal with it, suck it up, and clean more today.
She walked into one of the few guest rooms and opened a window a tad. She was going to be dealing with bleach, so she didn't want to be inhaling a while bunch of fumes. She went into the bathroom and sprayed the smaller room with a bubbly bleach spray, and waited for that to soak in. She poured some bleach in the tub next to it while she was waiting, and then set back to cleaning the tiles. She was on her hands and knees, close to the bleach. Her nose was clogged up, so she couldn't really tell exactly how much of the fumes she was actually inhaling. The window wasn't doing it for being cramped in this smaller room adjacent to it. She could still smell the fumes sure, but... it was a little too much.
Kimberly suddenly started to feel a little lightheaded. She brushed it off as part of her sickness, but soon enough...
She was passed out cold on the floor.
