Richard might not be all that knowledgeable about the theater – aside from the stuff he was obviously going to learn from being around Emma – but he’d learned how difficult it could be to be cast in a show. So, that only heightened just how happy he was for Emma now that she was working on a new show. Richard was just the opposite; he’d never had to worry about paychecks, but plenty of people in his field got burned out over stressful work schedules and difficult clients. But Richard at least tried to laugh it off after a long day, and that was made quite a bit easier when he could come home to Emma, who always seemed willing to joke about insane clients with him.
He knew it had been ridiculous to be nervous about asking her to move in, because he knew it was just the next logical step, but he had managed it anyway. Still, he had managed to ask in the end, and he couldn’t have been happier since she moved in. There was no doubt in his mind that they were going to stay together, so he also knew there was no need to rush anything. Now that they’d finally gotten their act together, they could just relax and take things slowly. He knew he couldn’t love anyone else like he loved Emma, and this just reinforced his conviction that they belonged together.
And Richard was excited for her. After all, he had witnessed one or two of her most spectacular cooking disasters, and he had heard stories about others. He wasn’t sure if it was an anomaly or something along those lines, but it probably didn’t matter; one way or another, the cake had turned out well, and Emma was excited about it. “Good point. I shouldn’t jump the gun on that, who knows what could happen next time? I guess I should just reserve judgment until we see how other attempts go, huh? Although, if you're that convinced I should wait, I might be a little scared."
