"Ohhh." That's right. He had forgotten about that. He knew that there were several people now a days who did the same thing. Although he could understand they needed to work, it was still sad that they couldn't be home to be the ones to take care of their kids.
River's corn was finally done, and he finally set to work on eating. He was never much of a talker when he was eating, and really, him and Alyssa didn't have to talk with each other all the time. They had that type of relationship where you could sit in silence for a while and it didn't matter. It wasn't awkward.
Once they were done with their food, River took both plates and walked over to a trash can in the distance, tossing it out. He walked back over to her and asked "Well, do we want to sit by the fire some more, or would you rather go to the beach for a bit?"
