River's eyes got a little wide as he heard her stomach growl, and teased her a little bit. "God, girl, you need some food in there." He reached down and patted her tummy jokingly, as if it might quiet the noise. He put the other steak on the plate, and was about to do the same thing to check the center of this one when she mentioned anything else. "Oh!" He reached down grabbed the ears of corn. "We can just roast these like you do mashmallows." He sat down and took the steak that he hadn't cut open yet for himself, so he could check it and not deter her from eating.
Once they were both situated, he handed her one of the ears, and handed her a metal rod to stick in one end so she could hold it over the fire, and he did one for his own, holding out his ear over the fire.
