Laughing at his suggestion of clubbing her she simply shook her head, "As if you'd even need to club or drag me anywhere." Okay...so maybe he did need to drag her one or two places but it wasn't her fault she was thoroughly dedicated to her work.
As the flames jumped up signaling the fire having been started she clapped, "Man make fire." Giving him a wink she moved closer, kneeling in the sand and staring at his set up, "So how do we do this whole cooking over the fire thing? About the only thing I've ever roasted like this is hot dogs and marshmallows."
Alyssa was already sure this was one of the best birthdays she'd ever had, most likely because she was spending it with someone that cared about her. The fact that it was days late, which was no fault of his own, wasn't even a factor in it because he'd already managed to make up for all of that.
